Adoption #2 is still underway. I have to admit, during the summer hear, when I was getting used to raising a teen and carrying around the weight of a baby in my belly, another adoption was hard to fathom. But, surprisingly enough, now that we have a 15 (almost 16) year old and a 3 month old, we are ready to go again.
One of the reasons we don't see ourselves as completely and utterly insane is because we still have a long wait ahead of us. When we sent our dossier in on October 28, 2011, we were in the 60s on the infant wait list- we are now in the 40s. Who knew a longer wait would be what we wanted?
We have changed our request to just one baby, 0-24 months, boy or girl (of course from Ethiopia). Haben is thrilled, and we recently found out our agency is now working with an orphanage in Haben's hometown. How cool would it be to travel to Mekele (also Sloane's middle name) to bring home their baby brother or sister? Let's face it- stranger things have happened.
I am going to try to get back to this blog now that we are back on the adoption journey. We recently had a home study update and traveled to Cleveland to get fingerprinted again. This trip was a little different, since we had a little girly with us.
Since I haven't blogged much, I will post some photos from our incredible year. I cannot believe all that has happened since this blog was started and can't wait to share all of God's plans with you in the year to come!
Eating at an Ethiopian restaurant in Pittsburgh- it was at this restaurant that we read Haben's profile (on my phone) for the first time. I sat in the very seat and told Sean I had a feeling this was our daughter...
And here was our first family photo- celebrating Easter together in Kansas.
